NEW parents Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have gushed about their "beautiful" four-day-old daughter Sunday Rose, describing her as an "absolute delight".
"We feel immensely blessed and grateful to be given this beautiful baby girl," the glamour couple told People magazine in a statement.
"She`s an absolute delight."
Those to congratulate Urban and Kidman reportedly include the actress`s former husband, megastar Tom Cruise and Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.
The world is awaiting its first glimpse of Sunday Rose, who was taken home from the Baptist Hospital in Nashville earlier this week.
The Daily Telegraph revealed earlier this week the girl was named after artist Sidney Nolan`s muse, Sunday Reed.
A friend told People magazine "Nicole is euphoric", adding: "She`s wanted this for so long."
Kidman`s mother Janelle and sister Antonia are in the country music capital to be by the Oscar winner`s side.
Kidman and Urban are planning a trip back to Australia later this month to show off Sunday to Kidman`s father, Antony, who stayed behind in Sydney, and Urban`s family, who largely reside in Queensland on the Sunshine Coast.
They are also reported to be considering a Sydney baptism for Sunday Rose.
London`s Daily Mirror reported Kidman`s ex-husband Cruise sent a "room full of flowers" to the actress to congratulate her, and that she also received a personal note from Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.
Kidman and Cruise, who divorced after almost 10 years together, have two adopted children, Isabella, 15, and Connor, 13.
The Daily Mirror quoted one of Kidman`s unnamed friends as saying: "Nicole and Keith are besotted with their baby. Nicole wants to be a very hands-on mum and has shunned all offers of help."
"But her sister and a nanny will help out in future if needs be. She has had hundreds of bouquets of flowers from well-wishers."
"Tom was one of the first people to get in touch and he sent her enough flowers to fill a room.
"Even Australia`s Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, sent her a hand-written note. She`s touched and amazed by it all," the Daily Mirror said.
