Air force officer shot in training mishap

AN air force officer has been shot in a training mishap.

The man in his late 20s was shot in the upper body about 3pm (AEST) today.

The shooting occurred at the Royal Australian Air Force base at Point Cook, southwest of Melbourne.

"He received a wound and was taken to the Alfred Hospital and is in a stable condition," Ambulance Victoria spokesman Ray Rowe said.
