Bodies found beneath lookout
Reported missing ... Ujalla Dinesh and her mother Jyoti Mehta.

A MAN will face murder charges after the bodies of a missing woman and her nine-year-old daughter were found in the Blue Mountains.

Indian nationals Jyoti Mehta, 38, and her daughter Ujalla Dinesh were reported missing by Ms Mehta`s husband on May 5.

The pair were last scene at their home in Dunn Way at Blacktown, Sydney.

About 2pm (AEST) yesterday, a bushwalker sighted a woman`s body at the bottom of Echo Point lookout in the Blue Mountains and raised the alarm.

The body of a second female was found nearby about 6pm.

Police attended their home in Dunn Way, Blacktown, about 10.15pm last night and arrested a 41-year-old man.

He was refused bail and is expected to face Blacktown Local Court today, charged with two counts of murder.

Poor weather and the onset of darkness prevented the retrieval of the bodies, and a new attempt was due to be made at first light this morning.

Formal identification has yet to happen but police believe the bodies are those of Ms Mehta and Ujalla Dinesh.
