THE wife of actor Bill Murray has accused him of being a sex addict, abusive and hooked on marijuana and alcohol.
Jennifer Butler Murray filed divorce papers on May 12 after almost 11 years of marriage.
The complaint alleges Murray, 57, would often leave without telling her, and he "travels overseas where he engages in public and private altercations and sexual liaisons".
It also alleges Murray physically abused his wife and last November "hit her in the face and then told her she was `lucky he didn`t kill her`."
Jennifer Murray also filed for a restraining order, saying she had to flee the marital home with their four children because she lived in terror of Murray`s abuse.
Bill Murray`s lawyer, John McDougall, wouldn`t comment apart from saying the entertainer "is deeply saddened by the break-up of his marriage".
The couple signed a prenuptial agreement filed as an exhibit with the divorce papers before they married in 1997.
As part of the agreement, both waived their right to alimony or support if the marriage broke up.
But Murray agreed to pay $7.3 million to his ex-wife within 60 days of a final divorce decree.
Jennifer Murray also says the Lost in Translation actor should be "solely responsible for any and all costs and expenses associated with the children".
Her restraining order seeks to stop him "interfering with, abusing, intimidating, threatening, threatening to abuse or molesting" his wife.
It also wants to prevent him "stalking or making abusive or threatening calls or text messages to her or the children".
