No drinks rule for Wheatley

FOR the next five months while on home detention, tax cheat Glenn Wheatley must comply with strict conditions or risk being sent back to prison.

Mr Wheatley returned to his Melbourne mansion today after being released early from Beechworth prison in northern Victoria.

For the next five months Mr Wheatley must:

* Be of good behaviour and not commit any offences;

* Not leave his home at Avoca St, South Yarra unless the Department of Justice approves his absence or there is an emergency;

* Only engage in activities such as shopping or paid work, if it is approved by the Department;

* Accept unannounced visits from parole officers and submit to searches of his property and possessions;

* Wear an electronic ankle tag that monitors him and that he must not try to damage or disable;

* Not consume alcohol or illegal drugs, or abuse any legal drugs and submit to drug or breath tests;

* Take part in paid work, treatment programs or volunteer work the department approves or orders him to do.
