A SAND boarder has found what are believed to be old human bones at a beach in Western Australia`s south-west.
Police say the sand boarder came across the human remains buried in sand dunes at Belvedere beach near Australind, 160km south of Perth.
The bones are not believed to be recent and a forensic anthropologist is expected to examine the bones today.
The WA Department of Indigenous Affairs is also looking into the matter.
The local Noongar Aborigines say they have traditionally used the Australind area for camping grounds.
