Sarwan to lead West Indies

MIDDLE-order batsman Ramnaresh Sarwan will lead West Indies against Australia in the first Test at Sabina Park, Jamaica starting on Friday morning (EST).

Dwayne Bravo was named vice-captain in the 14-man squad announced by the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB).

Chris Gayle, who led the team in the home series against Sri Lanka in March and April, has been ruled out due to a groin injury.

Left-handed opening batsman Sewnarine Chattergoon is recovering from a shoulder injury and was also unavailable for selection.
