Tahu plays as Tahs name team

17.05.2008
RUGBY league recruit Timana Tahu has been chosen on the New South Wales bench for tonight`s cut-throat Super 14 clash with Queensland at Suncorp Stadium.

Waratahs coach Ewen McKenzie ended the mystery surrounding his team by selecting no-frills back Matt Carraro at outside centre.

Tahu is expected to replace Carraro in the pivotal defensive position in the second half.

Youngster Rob Horne, who has played the last half of the competition at No.13, has also been retained on the bench while Sam Harris missed selection.

McKenzie initially picked a 23-man squad for the last-round grudge match and only finalised the team this evening.

As expected, Lote Tuqiri returns to the wing and Sam Norton-Knight starts at fullback in the other change to the starting team which drew 13-13 with the Stormers in Cape Town last weekend.

NSW need to beat the Reds to secure a home semi-final, while a loss could see them miss the play-offs all together.
