LONELY mother Anan "Annie" Liu had a lover and became a member of an internet dating site in a desperate bid to find "true love" in the months before she was killed.

In a personal secret blog with one entry titled "There is a kind of love called letting go", Ms Liu tells of a love affair with a married man who has a child - moving in with them for almost two months.

In internet postings on July 12, August 29 and September 10, translated by the Herald Sun from Mandarin into English, Ms Liu says she is "deeply in love with a `cute, bad, guy` ".

The love affair began in July but ended suddenly in August a week before her lover`s wife returned home, she wrote.

Body found in husband`s car

A body found in the boot of Naiyin Xue`s car is expected to be confirmed as that of Anan Liu today.

An international murder hunt is underway for Mr Xue.

"We`d very much like to speak with Mr Xue, who we believe is in the USA," said Det-Sen Sgt Simon Scott, head of a taskforce trying to unravel the trans-Pacific mystery.

"This is now a homicide investigation. We have a body and he is a person we need to speak to."

Love nest

In her postings, Ms Liu calls the mystery man`s house the "love nest".

It`s in another New Zealand city, away from her violent husband and kung fu master Naiyin "Michael" Xue.

"I have to escape from this love because if I can`t get the whole thing, I`d rather have nothing," she wrote.

"It`s really painful for me. I cried. But there is a kind of love called letting go. Letting go forever.

"I don`t want to hurt another innocent, that`s why I`d rather hurt myself," she says, referring to her lover`s wife.

"You will never know how much I love you. And you will never know how difficult it is for me to forget you.

"No one could love you more than I do, but you will never understand this.

"I wish I could just forget everything and just let go.

"Maybe after many years, if I run into you, I would smile at you and look you in the eyes and say, `How are you?`.

"In a city without you, everything will go back to peace."

Ms Liu wrote: "Life is like a bad dream. My life is unstable and I hope I can just have the freedom to come and go any time I want until I can find a place where I can emotionally have a rest."

"But I simply can`t find it. I am tired and lonely. Life is meaningless without love.

"Life is suffering."

In the last entry, Ms Liu wrote: "I am lonely and helpless . . . At the end of bad luck, brightness will come.

"I will keep the good memories in mind. It`s what you have already had and cherish that won`t end."

Internet dating

The Herald Sun can also reveal the attractive 27-year-old joined a Chinese language dating service three months before she was killed and dumped in the boot of a car.

She used the Chinese pseudonym "bi an", a lily, Beautiful Flower of Death, a symbol of sadness in China.

She is optimistic but wants to escape a lonely life.

Ms Liu opened her account on July 29 this year with almost 16,000 people viewing her profile. She last logged on September 11, the day before the last sighting of her.

It is not known whether she met anybody through the site or if her fugitive husband, Naiyin Xue, had seen her profile, in which she writes she is "divorced with no children".

Ms Liu, who studied in New Zealand, emigrated from Changsha in China`s Hunan province.

She wrote that she did not have a soulmate and had few true friends.

She wrote she was "lonely and having a hard time", but sometimes regarded "hard times as a gift".

"Only when you have been through the hard things, then you know how to cherish things," Ms Liu wrote.

"Nothing is forever. Not everything has an outcome or result, so just cherish whatever you have had.

"Keep the hope in your heart and you will finally get what is supposed to be in your destiny."

Ms Liu was most likely killed on September 12 after picking up her daughter Qian Xun Xue from creche. Qian`s father abandoned the girl at Southern Cross Station in Spencer St.

Ms Liu had dreamed of visiting an idyllic island or forest and a famous city.

She loved reading books and lifestyle features, enjoyed listening to music and singing karaoke, playing badminton, driving and Asian foods.

Movies were another interest - her favourite a popular Chinese film called Chinese Odyssey, in which the female protagonist is accidentally killed by her lover.

It is based on the book Journey to the West.

She longs for a new relationship away from her violent husband, writing she wants to be a "good wife" and "good mum".

"If I love someone I will also love his shortcomings," she wrote. "I will be a good wife and good mum."
