Hollywood hottie ... the girls went wild for Zac Efron / Noel Kessel

NEVER before have the girls been in such a screaming frenzy as when High School Musical star and Hollywood hottie, Zac Efron, took to the carpet.

But it was rather the `orange carpet` that had fans lining up in their hundreds as the Nickelodeon Kids Choice awards ramped up for 2007.

Efron, who was in town for a second time this year was tight-lipped about his split with girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens, but said he`d be spending his time in Australia alone.

When asked what he would be doing with himself while here, the star replied that he was going to "just chill."

"But I`m not tsaying anything what I`ll be doing `cos I`ll be doing it by myself," he said.

Efron said he would never tire of the screaming mobs of girls he encountered at every event.

"You can never get used to it. It`s always fun, always an adventure, always crazy."

American rock sensation Good Charlotte also helped turn up the volume from the kids, Joel Madden, boyfriend of Aussie Sophie Monk, saying Australia was now a very special place for him.

"It`s great to be back, I love Australia, obviously we come back quite a bit so it`s like a home away from home for us," he said.

The Veronica`s duo, Jess and Lisa Origlasso, who will be co-hosting the night with Efron also caused quite a splash, with Lisa and boyfriend Dean Geyer walking the carpet seperately.

Rove, Merrick and Rosso, Ricki-Lee, The Rogue Traders and Shannon Noll complete with his entourage of wife Rochelle and sons Cody and Blake also made an appearances.

The usual Home and Away and Australian Idol cast were there to lend support.

Delta Goodrem who took to the carpet in a flowing organza number denied she had picked up a a new, slightly English, accent.

"It`s not an English accent, it`s a confused accent" she said.

Bindi Irwin arrived to ever was looking as cute as ever in khaki, having chosen not to wear any of the youngster`s new clothing range for the big night.

"I`m just wearing my normal Bindi the Jungle Girl clothes because I might be getting slimed tonight so I thought I better not wear anything too nice. I got slimed last year and it was pretty neat."
