Britney Spears`s Alcoholics Anonymous counsellor has said he is dating the singer.

Recovered alcoholic John Sundahl claims Britney "chatted him up" at their AA meetings before asking him out.

The 38-year-old real estate developer claims the couple fooled the media by going on romantic dinner dates together in secret.

And when he was recently sick in hospital undergoing bowel surgery, a "frantic" Britney allegedly stayed by his side on all-night vigils.

“When I was in the hospital, she sat with me and held my hand all night long. She even sang and hummed to me while I was practically unconscious,” he reportedly said. “I love being around her. She’s a sweet, caring girl and a good mom.”

Spears is now allegedly furious with her “boyfriend” because he announced that she is still an alcoholic.

A source told the Daily Star, “Britney’s furious. She’s tried to keep their relationship a secret and now he’s told the world and called her an alcoholic to boot.”

Last night, he lifted the lid on their romance, which he says started more than two months ago.

Sundahl has branded the troubled pop mum a "practising alcoholic".

He said: "Yes, she is still a practising alcoholic."

Britney, 25, is said to be furious with his comments as she has always denied being an alcoholic and insists she was forced into rehab against her will by her mother Lynne.

After leaving the Malibu`s Promises Rehab Centre, the singer - who has two children with estranged husband Kevin Federline - said: "I never had a problem. I didn`t go out for a while, and then when I broke up with Kevin, I decided to let my hair down. That`s all."
