Family outrage ... the apps allow iPhone owners to view girls wearing bikinis and lingerie in erotic and suggestive poses.
APPLE has come under fire for offering raunchy iPhone applications showing photos of near naked women which are aimed at users as young as 12.

The apps, available via Apple`s popular iTunes Store, allow iPhone owners to view girls wearing skimpy bikinis and lingerie in erotic and suggestive poses. One app, Peek-a-babe, even allows users to undress girls down to their underwear by stroking the screen.

In the application description of a title called "Sexy Hotties Slideshows" it says people can enjoy the "world`s sexiest women wherever you are - at school, in a meeting, on the subway or in the back of a limousine".

Some of the apps also allow the users to set certain images as their iPhone`s wallpaper, The Daily Telegraph reports.

Australian Family Association spokesman John Morrissey said Apple was "pushing the envelope" by rating many of the titles suitable for ages 12 and up.

"Kids have more freedom with these things (mobile phones) and there`s less chance of supervision if they have them," he said.

"They`re more likely to have a mobile on them that they can use anywhere at anytime than a laptop. The door is opening wider in terms of kids` access to materials."

There are other even raunchier apps aimed at users 17 and over.

Apple does not allow porn or nudity in any of the apps and must approve each one before it is sold.

An Apple Australia spokesperson said customers should contact them if they have any concerns.

Wellington goalkeeper Liam Reddy has played down rumours he is set to join Sydney FC as he prepares to end the Sky Blues` season on Saturday night.

"I have nothing official to say except we`re talking," he said.

"I am a Sydney boy and I`d love to come back here."

Reddy has been a crucial part of the Phoenix`s late-season surge and the 28-year-old paid tribute to former Celtic and Scotland goalkeeper Jonathan Gould, a member of the Phoenix coaching staff, for bringing the best out of him.

"This has been the best thing to happen to me (for my game) to be at Wellington and having Gould look after me," he said.

On-loan Reddy has put the record straight about his mid-season departure from Brisbane Roar, saying the reason he went to Phoenix wasn`t because he had a fall-out with Roar coach Ange Postecoglou.

"I wasn`t happy with the way the club was going after (former coach) Frank Farina`s dismissal and departure of senior players and Ange asked if anyone didn`t want to be here next year.

"I didn`t feel there was a place for me and I respect Ange for letting me go when I asked to. Wellington came to me and it has been the best three to four months I could have hoped for.

"I was thinking I`d be here (finals) with Frank and the Roar. I am here with Wellington and we are very confident that we can continue our good run and make the grand final."
