Looking for love ... Northern Territory farmer Shona Izod hopes to get teh chance to searhc for a husband on the next series of Farmer wants a Wife.
Farmer dating show to include women in next series
They work just as hard, says producer
But one hopeful says partner will have to like dust and poo
THE savvy producers of Nine`s hit dating series, A Farmer Wants A Wife, will let lonely women on the land throw their hat into the ring this time.
NSW farmer Jenny, from Tumburumba near Wagga Wagga, is one of two farming femmes mustering for a man on the program which has seen cupid`s arrow take aim in regional Australia.
The show`s executive producer Judy Smart said: "These women work just as hard as the men, are in charge of huge farms and they just don`t have time to find a date."
Shona Izod, 26, from a cattle station in the Douglas Daly Region, about 250km south of Darwin, has been selected in the Top 12 eligible bachelors and "bachelorettes" for the upcoming show.
Just six will be chosen to take part in the show.
The happy-go-lucky farmgirl said she dreamed of finding her perfect match.
"It`s very hard to find a man when you live on the land," she said.
"You never have time."
"But this is my life; this is where I want to be, and this is what I would like to share with the man of my dreams."
"I know there is someone out there for me and someone that will love me just they way I am."
"I am ready for anything and will welcome love in my life with open arms."
The beautician said she is looking for a strong man, aged late 20s to early 30s, who is easygoing, kind, willing to have a go and try his hardest at everything, and who shares the same values and morals.
"And who can also handle hard work, extreme heat, blood, dirt and poo," she joked.
She dislikes arrogance, superiority, bad manners and laziness.
"These things don`t last long on a cattle station," she said.
So is she a beautician or a farmer? If she is actually a farmer then great. If she is just a beautician living in a farming community, then the show is getting really stupid!
