Video found on Brisbane Broncos players mobile
It allegedly shows drug use
Police refused to confirm footage exists
VIDEO footage on a mobile phone seized from one of three Brisbane Broncos players involved in a sexual assault investigation allegedly shows drug use.
Queensland police are believed to be preparing to widen their investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a woman in a Brisbane nightclub toilet on September 13 after discovering the footage on one of the rugby league player`s mobiles.
It is understood that the footage shows suspected drug use, although sources have told The Australian that police have yet to determine the identities of those who are believed to have been captured on the video.
The mobiles were taken by police last week when the three players - Karmichael Hunt, Sam Thaiday and Darius Boyd - had formal interviews over the alleged sexual assault of the woman, 24, at the Alhambra Lounge, in Fortitude Valley.
Police were investigating suggestions that various sex acts in the nightclub`s toilets were recorded on the mobile phone.
It is not known when the mobile footage was shot.
There have been mounting concerns within the Broncos camp as to what footage existed on the phones when they were seized by police.
When asked about the alleged drug footage, the Queensland police media unit refused last night to confirm its existence or comment on the direction of the investigation.
Broncos chief executive Bruno Cullen said he had not been informed of the existence of the alleged drug footage.
