A WOMAN and her baby girl were hurt when a rock was thrown at the train they were in, showering them in glass.

The woman`s other daughter, aged three, escaped injury.

The CityRail train was travelling west between Emu Plains and Lapstone in western Sydney yesterday afternoon when a rock was thrown at it, police said.

The rock smashed through a window, showering the 21-year-old woman and her one-year-old daughter with glass.

The woman suffered an eye injury and a cut arm, while her daughter received a cut on her temple.

The woman and her children were taken to Lithgow Hospital.

Police are still seeking the culprit.
