A SECOND Queensland high school has raised concerns about a possible cancer cluster among its staff.
An Education Queensland (EQ) spokesperson this afternoon confirmed a staff member at Morayfield State High School, north of Brisbane, had become anxious about the number of cancer cases at the school in recent years.
During the past seven years 12 cases of cancer have been reported among staff at the school, ABC radio said.
Morayfield principal Sharyn Donald today assured parents their children were not at risk.
"We do not believe that there is any danger or risk of harm to any staff member or student at our school," she wrote in a letter to parents.
"The health and wellbeing of all members of our school community are our primary concern and I ask that the school community trust us to keep them informed as we deal with this sensitive issue."
The EQ spokesperson said the staff member would have the opportunity to discuss their concerns with the department`s organisational health unit.
