An airline spokesman said the intended three-times-a-week service was being cut back to permit training flights and because other, planned, engineering work "is taking longer to complete than expected".
Emirates said Boeing 777-300ERs would fly the route while the A380 is repaired.
The A380 flights began on August 1 and are now scheduled to resume on September 12.
The airline has suffered a string of problems with the A380 since receiving the world`s largest commercial plane in late July, after it was initially scheduled for delivery in October 2007.
Earlier this year the airline was forced to ground the A380 on two separate occasions, due to a fuel pump problem.
Despite the incidents, Emirates is still the largest customer of the superjumbo with a total of 58 on order, with five in operation.
Qantas will become the next airline to receive an A380 on September 19, with the inaugural flight from Melbourne to Los Angeles taking place on October 20.
