Confidential understands police are investigating a clash between Fawcett and freelance photographer Guy Finlay outside 2DayFM`s city studios on Thursday night.
A station video crew following the I Kissed A Girl singer allegedly captured the fisticuffs on camera, which saw Fawcett`s expensive camera smashed and Finlay`s mobile phone going missing.
The clip of the fight was shown online yesterday but later removed at police request as investigations continued.
Fawcett said he had made a complaint over the incident, but claimed "it was a cowardly assault that was completely unwarranted".
Finlay, on the other hand, alleged Fawcett "started elbowing me and barging me into oncoming traffic" as the pair attempted to snap Perry as she left the studio.
"At one point he had me pinned down on the ground and was trying to gouge my eyes out - it`s all on camera," Finlay alleged.
Police were yet to process the report filed by Fawcett last night and declined to comment.
