DEMOCRACY leader Aung San Suu Kyi`s house arrest has been extended, Burmese officials said today.
Authorities informed her of the decision in a brief meeting today at her Rangoon home.
"Her house arrest has already been extended,`` one official sid.
Seven officials visited her lakeside home around 4pm (1930 AEST), and delivered the news during a 10-minute meeting, the official said.
A second official confirmed the extension, but neither could give any details about the detention order, including the length of her confinement in her home.
