AUTHORITIES in Queensland are seeking the driver of a vehicle struck by a coal train after being abandoned on railway tracks in central Queensland.
At about 1am (AEST) today the northbound train hit the utility which was stopped on the railway crossing at the intersection of the Bruce Highway and Roope Road, Midgee, near Rockhampton.
No one was injured in the incident.
It is believed the vehicle had become stuck on the railway crossing and attempts had been made to move it before the crash.
No one was seen in or near the vehicle at the time of the collision.
