Goggin fades early, finishes second

2.06.2008
AUSTRALIAN Mathew Goggin has finished in a share of second place at the Memorial tournament behind American Kenny Perry in Ohio.

Goggin, seeking his first US Tour victory, started the final round with a three-shot lead but quickly surrendered his advantage with two early bogeys.

He still had an outside chance until he bogeyed the 17th hole, but bounced back to birdie the last for a round of 74 at Muirfield Village.

He has tied with American Jerry Kelly, Canadian Mike Weir and Englishman Justin Rose, two strokes behind Perry.
